Lawnchair Balloonist

The Athanasius Kircher Society has a bit on the Lawnchair Balloonist, Larry Walters, who flew in a lawnchair (tied to 35 helium-filled weather balloons) from a backyard up to 16,000 feet over greater Los Angeles. His uncontrolled jaunt has been wonderfully documneted by Mark Barry, who's apparently writing a book on Larry Walters' incredible but poorly thought-out idea.
